The Health and Science Careers Workshop is a week-long camp held in the July school holidays every year.
It is aimed at Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander students in Years 10 to 12 who are interested in science and health-related professions.
Students stay on campus for the week at a UWA Residential College.
They visit various health centres and medical facilities around Perth, including:
The camp also includes various social and sporting activities as well as a careers night, attended by Aboriginal doctors and health professionals.
Selection is limited to 25 students and is based on applications and school reports.
The workshop is fully funded by the University of Western Australia.
