2023 Program:

21 NOVEMBER 2023

Year 9 event

The year 9 Djinanginy, meaning 'looking' or 'seeing' in Noongar language, is a program that will further help Indigenous students understand what the university environment is like through lecture style activities as well as hands-on activities from a number of different study areas on campus.

In the past, our students have explored various discipline groups across UWA including:

This year our theme is STEM. By giving the students a taste of a few different study areas, we hope to stimulate an interest in university study which they may not have considered previously.

In addition to hands-on activities, students will meet current Indigenous university students and are informed of university entry pathways and the School of Indigenous Studies' Outreach Program. Students also receive lunch and a free t-shirt.

The program is free for participating schools. Places are limited to 120 students and schools are limited in the number of students they may bring due to venue capacities.

Registrations for 2023 will open in August
